Super Pro Bracket
The chart below was made using suggested system components on a
355 cubic inch small block Chevy. As you can see the peak horsepower
and peak torque are up higher in the rpm band than the pro street
system. Lower rpm torque is less due the larger duration and lift
specs of the camshaft. This engine uses a larger cfm carburetor, larger
camshaft, and higher compression ratio. This engine is not streetable
and fuel economy is no where in this picture. The ET that this engine
is capable of producing will be determined by the type of vehicle
it is installed into. By following the "Recommended matching components"
list and the system components list you will be able to build the
ultimate engine for your bracket racing needs.
Recommended matching components:
- Competition headers.
- Competition torque converter.
- Large high flow transmission cooler.
- Rear gear suitable for tire size and vehicle weight.
- Electric cooling fan, high amp alternator, race battery and high
torque starter.
- Ignition system- Ignition box, distributor or crank trigger, coil,
and wires.
- Nitrous kit for that extra thrill.
